Cro Cop: 'I nearly quit'

MIRKO “CRO COP” Filipovic has no intention of quitting the UFC despite back-to-back losses against Gabriel Gonzaga and Cheick Kongo.

The Croatian heavyweight says he has five or six fights left before he calls time on his MMA career but said his recent defeats in the Octagon did leave him questioning his future.

He told his official website: “I did think of retiring the night after my last defeat, but I’m not going to end my career soon.

“Every fight could be your last one. You can suffer from a fatal injury or you could break your arm or leg.

“But if I’m able to fight, I’ll fight. It’s my life and I enjoy doing it.”

Cro Cop told a Croatian newspaper he would return to fight in the UFC early next year, but Dana White has refused to comment on his claims.
